Security Alert Policy

1. Purpose of This Platform

The ATWOPAT Security Alert System is established to receive, document, and investigate reports relating to suspicious activities, misconduct, misrepresentation, fraudulent behavior, or any other matter that may affect the integrity, safety, and operations of the Association of Table Water Operators and Technicians (ATWOPAT).

This platform serves as a structured reporting channel and does not constitute a final determination of guilt or innocence.

2. Truthful Reporting Requirement

All individuals submitting reports through this system are legally and ethically required to provide accurate, complete, and truthful information. By submitting a report, you confirm that:

• The information provided is true to the best of your knowledge.
• You are not submitting false, misleading, or defamatory claims.
• You understand that your report may be used for investigative purposes.

3. Investigation & Verification Process

All submitted reports will undergo internal verification and assessment by ATWOPAT administrative and compliance teams. Where necessary, reports may be escalated to relevant external authorities, including but not limited to:

• Nigerian Police Force (NPF)
• Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
• Cybercrime Units under applicable Nigerian cyber laws
• Legal advisors and compliance consultants

ATWOPAT reserves the right to request additional clarification from the reporting party, including full name, phone number, email address, location details, and any supporting evidence.

4. Contact & Evidence Requirement

To ensure credibility and traceability of reports, submitters may be required to provide:

• Full legal name
• Valid phone number and email address
• Description of incident in detail
• Supporting evidence (images, documents, recordings, or witness information)

Failure to provide adequate information may result in delayed processing or dismissal of the report.

5. False Reporting & Legal Consequences

Any individual found to have submitted false, malicious, or intentionally misleading information will be held legally accountable. Such actions may violate applicable laws, including but not limited to:

• Defamation laws
• Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 of Nigeria
• Fraudulent misrepresentation statutes
• Civil liability for damages caused by false reporting

ATWOPAT reserves the right to pursue legal action against offenders and to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies in such matters.

6. Data Protection & Record Retention

All submitted data, including IP logs, contact details, attachments, and message history, may be securely stored for audit, investigation, and legal compliance purposes.

Information will only be shared with authorized personnel or government agencies when legally required.

7. Transparency & Communication

ATWOPAT is committed to maintaining transparency throughout the investigation process. Reporters may be contacted for updates or clarification, subject to confidentiality and ongoing investigations. However, not all details may be disclosed to protect the integrity of investigations.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By using the ATWOPAT Security Alert System, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are providing information under penalty of legal consequences for false reporting.
• You consent to your data being processed for investigative purposes.
• You understand that misuse of this system may result in legal action and reporting to authorities.
